Just don't do it.

Pros

-I believe that Dan Stoltz genuinely cares about people and is interested in doing what's best for members and employees. -Some of the coworkers are great, and I built some great friendships while working at SPIRE.

Cons

-Managers kind of do whatever they want and aren't trained very well. -There is very poor training, and employees really don't know what other departments do. -Most of the things I knew I had to learn by experience, not training. -It really seems like they're more interested in making money than supporting members or employees.

Pros

Really care about their employees! They put employees right up there with the members - they listen to what is being said and try to take action on it when they can. Can't do it all but at least they listen!!! SPIRE has really been growing in the last few years - makes it a fun and exciting place to work!

Cons

Nothing really - no company is perfect but I feel that they do try to listen to what needs to be worked on - really appreciate that! Have worked at other companies where this didn't happen.

Pros

I enjoy working with the people. The credit union is what you make of it. There is a lot of good if you allow yourself the opportunity to thrive. You can do so without permission from anyone. Always put the members first and you will succeed. Some managers are better than others- you know who they are.

Cons

I find the gossip and inter branch fighting a problem that NO one that can- cares to fix. “Cough cough -regional”. We are a team but don’t act like one. Everyone thinks they are better than the others. Few really are. They asked us to write these reviews which comes off a bit tacky- it makes a lot of the positive reviews to be more skewed. . Though there is so much that is backwards with the lack of skills in the managers of the branches that it is almost embarrassing. There is constant gossip from what I think are called regional managers now? Correct me if I am wrong on their title. It seems like they are constantly fighting to be recognized that they don’t care who they step on to move up- as long as the correct butt is kissed. We have members as a credit union is member based but everyone calls them customers. There are favorites. And there is in most companies- here you really feel it. Which is a horrible feeling. I feel worked to the bone but my manager could not care less. Work life balance is a joke if you work in a branch. Also pay is completely disproportionate to what you do. One thing we cannot say is “we’ve always done it that way”. Though unfortunately that seems to be the constant reason for why we do not progress. Too many egos. The incentive pay plan doesn’t seem to be fair to everyone. The pay is good depending what position you are
