Pros

There were some very good employees that you felt a great connection with and could meet up with outside work

Cons

Sales. The culture seemed to be more like a bank where they wanted cross sale goals, monthly minimums and branch minimums. It was a competition between branches and you were made known if you weren’t the top. It was a “look at me” mentality. From branch to branch and between Admin and Branches there seemed like a big disconnect and the “merged” CU employees were the ugly ducklings

Pros

-Does have some really awesome employees/coworkers that will gladly go the mile for you. -The idea/vision for this credit union is great.

Cons

-Managers lack training that are essential for coaching and helping their branch. -HR talks with other managers/employees about confidential info that should NEVER leave HR. -Gossip is worse than back in high school. -The training as a whole is by far lacking. You could call the contact center 4 different times and more than likely receive 4 different answers. -Turn over is ridiculous. -You will typically be pushed off from person to person within a department because no one wants to "help" or assist in the issue that is their department. -If the regional manager does not like you (or feels threatened by you), prepare to fight for your job daily because they will set you up for failure any chance they get. -Personal incentive standards are unfair. Especially considering branch location for a few. -The CEO has no idea what is going on in it's own company. -Spire's ways is very bank like with product pushing. -No personal and work life balance. You are expected to stay late, come early and work every other Saturday, and given a half day the following week. Most of the time you don't get the choice of what day that is. -Favoritism does exist. Terribly. -Treat other credit union members with horrible customer service!
