Pros

Free lunch, and okay healthcare options

Cons

It’s basically an unorganized, poorly managed company with pharmacist who talk crap about each other and their managers. No one’s job is safe. You can go home, and the next day be told upon arriving the next day that a computer is now doing your job. They have fired people upon returning from maternity leave, even just days before going on maternity leave. L&D is a joke, and walk around in a condescending manner. As if they don’t like their job and takes it out on employees. They will hire and pay people more yet if a solid tenured employee ask for a raise or more money it will be denied or they will be replaced. They make a lot of money like ALOT of money but people people insulting wages. When you’re billing insurance over 4k for a bottle of moisturizer, and other meds 5-10k you have enough to pay your employees reasonable wages.

Pros

A lot of great employees. A very inclusive culture. The mission is good.

Cons

The communication for the projects only happened top-bottom, there was no planning for projects that involved the engineers and the roadmap for the projects were assigned rather than negotiated. There's also a lack of transparency, which caused a lack of trust in leadership, with shocking news such as entire department closed without previous notice. Because of that, the retention rate is the lowest I've ever experienced anywhere.

Great Mission, Lots of Perks, Poor Leadership

Pros

- Blink has a great mission and genuinely helps a lot of people afford their medication (while being a sustainable business) - A lot of smart, talented, and friendly employees - Great start-up perks, like a nice office, catered lunch daily, etc. - Stroll in when you want, leave when you want. Not a lot of work

Cons

- The CEO and COO (brothers) are secretive, poor communicators, micro-managers and pretty unfriendly. They don't trust their employees with company information We would generally find out important information like new board members or funding amount when it's released to the press - they didn't trust us not to leak information. They also don't trust their employees with important decisions - they are extreme micromanagers who only really trust their own judgement. It seems like they prefer not to really interact with their employees.

Blink Health Response

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback -- we appreciate hearing from you. We have communication challenges as any young startup does -- exacerbated by the particular complexities in healthcare --- but we are truly committed to creating a stellar and transparent culture at Blink. I would like to share a few things that we are doing and introducing to increase transparency and communication as we evolve and scale as a company. We hold a weekly All Hands meeting to keep our team up to date on what’s happening around the company: wins, challenges, and changes, where Geoff speaks freely in a segment called “What's On My Mind”. In addition, our head of engineering and COO have introduced Product Thunderdome, a no-holds-bar, completely collaborative product forum which meets at the start of any and every Product launch and then regularly thereafter to increase collaboration (and destroy the waterfall!) Lastly, we continue to provide our team with a variety of avenues to submit questions, feedback, and suggestions both personally and anonymously. If any current Blinker shares a concern about communication or transparency please reach out to a member of the People team as we’d love to chat further. Geoff and Matt are also open to discussions and suggestions. Thanks again for your contribution to Blink and your feedback.
