Great business model, unit economics, growth and leadership.
Pros
- Talent is very solid. Lots of folks from Amazon. - Founders are clearly very intelligent. They come from investor/healthcare backgrounds. Great at assessing business models and have pivoted the company a few times in the past which has worked out wonderfully, but upset a lot of people at the time. - Fully remote. People live all over US and India. - No politics. It's just a get sh** done culture without any drama, besides periodic firedrills driven by external market/customer issues. - Great retention. Many employees been here for +3-4 years. I think this is because of the solid pay, high growth of the company and remote culture. - Incredible growth in 2023. Hoping this leads to valuable options in the next few years. - Low performers get laid off quickly (within a ~year). If you can't hang or keep up, you're out. Many designers and engineers i've worked with have been laid off because we realize they don't meet the quality bar. Those that work hard to produce and learn the business/product can make it. -Fast paced environment. Async culture. Document focused. No presentations.. just demos.
Cons
- You need to be very assertive to get people to teach you about the business. Healthcare, specifically the space Blink is in, is very complicated and their is a lot of domain knowledge to know that exists in the minds of those that have been around longest. - No cute benefits, trips, travel, etc. Just your pay, options and solid healthcare. - You'll never meet your coworkers in person unless you live in the same city. - very little small talk/ getting to know each other (honestly fine for me, but might bother others.)
