Pros

It's a great job to learn many valuable skills with a generally very low level of stress.

Cons

Nothing is based on skill or work ethic. Everything is based on seniority and it shows. One person could literally do nothing ever and it's fine. But if you're not a part of the "in crowd" you must always be on task.

I'm not sure which DC account you're referring to but some are unionized, which means that you've chosen to have basis be seniority and not necessarily job performance.

A lot of available work.

Cons

Health insurance is awful. No one has even heard of it. Also no matching 401k.

Block by Block Response

The insurance is a self funded plan. Many times employees will mistake the 3rd party administrator that takes care of claims as the name of the Insurance. The card you carry to send your claims in isn't the insurance company. Look at your benefits package that was mailed to you. Or, call the benefits department. They'll be happy to explain it all to you.
