Pros

Learn creative ways of dropping F bombs.

Cons

I have never worked at a place where Executives publicly berate their employees. Rampant use of profanity is common from my leader. Staff meetings, with 40+ people in attendance usually includes at least one threat of termination, either specific individuals or an entire team. No wonder employee turnover is so high.

Pros

You'll meet very bright and talented people at Bloom Energy, so much so you'll wonder how they ended up at BE or why they're still there. People seem to genuinely care about the mission and seeing the company succeed.

Cons

The pay at BE is not as competitive as other Silicon Valley companies. They like to come across as innovative like their neighbors but why work here for 15% - 20% below what everyone else is getting paid? The mission is good but all companies have good missions. The cost of living in the Bay Area is high so be prepared to live off your BE salary. The work you do is mostly in reaction to a last minute request from an executive. Don't take it personally if you spent 4 hours straight working on something only to learn another decision was made so it's time to move onto something different. Rinse and repeat for this kind of stressful work. The CEO has a Steve Jobs complex. No workplace flexibility. Getting to pick up your kid from school or going to a medical appointment does not count as being flexible. No hybrid work culture. Don't try to ask if you can work from home a few days a week. The inside of the office is boring. Don't expect anything impressive when you walk through the door. Company says it values diversity but there is no accountability or real action being taken by leadership to walk the walk.

Cons

No clear goals; upper management will look who to blame; employee turnover is one of the highest I've seen
