Pros

The customers are loyal and become fast friends and show a lot of appreciation for the product.

Cons

HR team basically doesnt exist. I had so many instances where leaders were inappropriate with me and nothing was done about it. Or my peers would be treated horribly by customers/other peers and nothing would be done about it. It really does feel like the blind leading the blind. There is no diversity - for every 12 men there is 1 female in a leadership position which felt really uncomfortable at times to be a part of. They do as many illegal things as they can when it comes to labor laws and are only now getting more regulated. Its a really crappy and unorganized work place in every aspect. Managers "Cafe Leaders" only care about numbers and will do anything to their staff to get those numbers approved by the few people above them. Im happy to be out of this toxic workplace and I feel so much safer now that I am. Instead of encouraging employees to stick it out and get ahead and excel in the company they just move them to a different cafe to start all the process over again so that they can buy themselves more time.

Pros

Incredible coworkers who are blindly loyal to the brand, despite how they're treated.

Cons

Miserably managed. No care or compassion for employees. That includes: your work atmosphere, your professional development, your career, and how you are treated as a human being. I have never worked in such a horrendous atmosphere in my entire life and can honestly say no company has ever treated me as badly as Blue Bottle.

Pros

-Free bag of coffee every week -Unlimited drinks -Great healthcare benefits for the service industry -Tips are pretty good if a manager works on bar -If you are looking for a part time/full time position during school or in between jobs this would be perfect

Cons

-Within the year, core values has gone a complete 180 -Every cafe is understaffed, stress levels and general dissatisfaction are through the roof -IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MOVE TO HQ IN OAKLAND FROM A BARISTA POSITION IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. -Growth from a barista position stops at a manager position. Even if you have necessary background experience in anything from graphic design, writing, administrative, etc. the corporate staff does not want to see baristas grow at 300 Webster. -Seriously, apply straight to the position you want at corporate headquarters, do not try to become a barista first.
