Pros

As a leasing professional for Blue Magma Residential, I’m proud to work for a company that truly strives for excellence. Leasing professionals serve as the face of the company, consistently delivering high-quality service while managing a wide variety of responsibilities that are essential to each community’s success.

Cons

Although we do receive bonuses for move-ins and renewals, the current hourly pay does not fully reflect the scope, complexity, and importance of our role. From prospect engagement and resident relations to administrative tasks, compliance, marketing, and property knowledge, the position requires strong multitasking, communication skills, and a high level of professionalism every single day. Because of this broad range of duties and the contribution leasing professionals make to occupancy, resident satisfaction, and the overall performance of each property, I believe the hourly compensation should be increased to more accurately match the value we bring to the company.

Pros

Variety in my workday – I get to visit different properties, meet new people, and never feel stuck in one place. • Strong skill development – Floating helps me learn multiple systems, communities, and management styles, which makes me more versatile and valuable. • Great for networking – I connect with more coworkers, residents, and managers across several locations. • Keeps things interesting – New challenges, new buildings, and new teams keep my job from feeling repetitive. • Im often seen as a “go-to” person – Because I adapt quickly, I often gain a reputation for being reliable and resourceful.

Cons

Being a floating leasing agent taught me a lot, but it definitely had its challenges. Constantly moving between properties meant I was always adjusting to new teams, new systems, and different expectations. The travel could be tiring, and I was often placed where things were already stressful or short-staffed. The hardest part was not having a “home” property or a steady team to settle into. Even though I stayed professional and adaptable, it sometimes left me feeling a little disconnected. Still, every challenge pushed me to grow, stay flexible, and trust my ability to handle whatever came my way.
