There were a lot of free spirit, excitement, progressive working culture on the surface. In reality, you see the toxic cultures filled with ego, political games, two-faced managers, dishonesty. Manager(s) will put on a nice front, project fairness, but won't hesitate to throw you under the bus and push you aside, the instance he sees someone else that he likes to replace you.
