Pros

There are some fantastic engineers and scientists here who are ding groundbreaking work.

Cons

They tout perks, like bring your dog to work. Unless you work on New Glenn off campus. Facilities believes mini fridges are an electrical fire hazard and has banned them. Our gym memberships have been revoked starting in January so we are encouraged to use the headquarters gym with no parking and a totally unreliable shuttle bus service to and from the gym. And we have no parking. We have less and less decision making authority. Leadership is instilling processes with little forethought of the effect and how these ill thought processes are slowing progress. So, we have turned into a large aerospace company with the worst processes and decisions in the industry and have sub-par facilities.

Pros

- The original vision was inspiring - millions of people living and working in space - There are remnants of functional groups that achieved something in the past, during the reign of the old president ("small pockets of competence") - Funding appears to be unlimited (for now) - They do not seem to fire people easily, even if they mess up big

Cons

- Absence of ownership and accountability is a norm - Vast incompetence and inexperience (Blue is riddled with new grads and rejects from other aerospace companies) that hardly know what they are talking about, less what they are doing - Blame culture and high turnover - Arrogance and unreasonable optimism/bullishness are character traits of the majority of managers

Pros

there is still some really great people at blue origin.

Cons

The culture of builders is gone. We are not a culture of hashtags and cult like leadership principles. Blue Origin seems to have lost its roots of building world class vehicles. The vehicles are being built slower with every iteration, but management claims its for QA. The support channels for production are moving slower than ever, with signs of slowing even more.
