Inspiring work

Pros

An inspiring place to work. We are making history and changing how people will live and work in space. Engineers are involved in all aspects of design, analysis, build, test, and operations. Most employees are easy to get along with; office politics exist but are less frustrating than at similar companies. Schedules can be flexible for handling family and other life obligations.

Cons

Pay is average at best. Engineer salary is based mostly on seniority and performance, but there are no bonuses. Health insurance is average. PTO is average. Parental leave is average for US employers (which is to say, not very good).

A fantastic opportunity

Pros

Blue Origin is a unique aerospace company with stable funding and a distinct lack of bureaucracy. It is still small enough that everyone's efforts have a direct impact on the vehicles we build and fly. It's a great place to be an engineer. There is a high concentration of talented people, and the culture is friendly.

Cons

We're still developing our business processes and systems. There is schedule pressure and a heavy workload to meet the challenges set by our owner and senior management. But, better that than boredom!
