Not a Great Company

Pros

Steady, fairly easy work. Paychecks are on time.

Cons

I don’t have much experience with corporate management but I will say, in my case they don’t know how to pick a site lead. They also don’t stand behind their employees. Also, after a year of employment they don’t give raises either. Which is made doubly worse because they pay lower than most contractors, and they actually said they were going to give a raise, or a bonus, or both. Nothing. They also freely allow breech of contract and let the uniforms treat us like we are their airmen. They also assign us to units not even covered by the contract and allow that unit to run roughshod all over us. All the while, the site lead goes along with it out of fear of losing his job, and no one seems to care they are literally breaking the law.

Good Company, Room for Improvement

Pros

Although it largely depends on the contract, BlueForce generally provides a great salary and decent benefits, including an employer matched 401k and free dental coverage. Additionally, BlueForce HQ works hard to make its contractors happy and are really helpful for the most part.

Cons

Management appears to be extremely disorganized at times. For example, it's not uncommon for BlueForce to "notice" you haven't submitted a document (agreement, expense report, timesheet, etc.) that you actually submitted weeks ago. The outdated IT systems could be partially responsible for this but I believe it's mostly lack of communication between departments like finance and project management.

Pros

The salary, health-care and accommodations are very, very good as compared to anything that one would be afforded here in The States.

Cons

Lack of diversity at the administrative level Many management positions were filled by inexperienced individuals Lack of transparency from the top Absence of "follow through" to resolve critical employee issues Unwillingness for collecting evaluations of management and administration
