Quantity over quality. Not run by clinicians. Run by business people out for money. Corporate has very little care for anyone including the clients. Just as long as they don't have to put in effort. No access to PSLF for student loans because it's a for profit company. Ethics and values go out the door and only dollar signs are heard by the big dogs. Pay is okay but not great for what you have to deal with. Staff retention is terrible because they don't pay well and they do not support their staff (specific to corporate). Center staff and leadership only has so much power but is completely controlled by the money pushers. For all of the young folk that come into this as a BT or RBT, be warned that they start you at $16 an hour until you pass your exam then bump you to $17. Their excuse is that they have benefits. Well, for those young people still on mom and dad's insurance, this means nothing. So staff turnover rates are high. Training process is 5-6 weeks so if you're a BCBA needing to supervise kids and complete their outlandish requirements for treatment plan updates, be prepared to be on the schedule. The center leadership definitely tries to be helpful. However, they are not supported in the slightest and therefore, cannot provide support to their staff. The expectation is at least 25 hours per week with clients. Totally reasonable.. until you throw in 50-100 page TPUs with an ever changing template. Compliance department does NOT support their employees at all especially if that means a higher response effort for them. Don't worry, everyone... When they are hiring you, they will tell you the hours are roughly 8-4 Monday through Friday. Then when you're nice and comfy, they will tell you that they are extending your hours until 6pm and offering Saturdays as well. Oh then when you ask if there is a non-compete clause prior to signing your contract and they say no, someone will sit you down and try to have a say over what you do with free time when you're already working there. They are not recommended by any local schools because of how the treat their staff. Thus, we cannot get RBTs that actually care/dedicate their efforts to the work and kids. But then you have lousy people that will sit there and not engage with their clients, while on the phone and talking about their personal adventures and not face any consequences while the rest of us put in extra time and do the most. The parents don't have consequences for the lack of attendance to family guidance sessions, as well as late pick ups, drop offs, or aggressive encounters with the technicians. They can just walk all over anyone. Not to mention if they complain to our compliance department, compliance will very clearly always take the parent side and not support the staff no matter what position they are in. As for case consult for high intensity clients, have fun with that. Most of the time, the people that you consult with don't even follow up with you. Even at the very least will they spend more than 10-20 minutes with the client while not being distracted by other things to see them engage in behaviors. And if you tell them what time to come due to increase in behaviors at that time, they will most certainly not come at that time. Honestly, above the center leadership there has been one person that has followed through with any promise they provide and even they have not been doing it lately. Oh and lastly, the BTs will come and get their certification (because we pay for it while they get paid) then less than a week later they will quit for a contract employer where they will make $28 an hour. This place has been so disappointing. A bunch of false promises and position mergers to pay less money. Meanwhile the staff suffer dearly and in return so do the clients.
