Growing Company

Pros

Luxury products and environment without the department store feel. Gratis is pretty generous and the hours for retail are more forgiving.

Cons

Communication from upper management is horrible. The pay is insulting for the vendor relationship that they have. No structure to the company, everything is trail and error.

Good people but could have been better in a few areas

Pros

My store manager was the best! She was very accommodating to everyone's schedule, you could talk to her, she was a genuine good person who wanted to see everyone do well.

Cons

Way too much pressure on the managers to make numbers which puts stress on the whole team. The incentives are not that generous and it's like pulling teeth to get positive recognition for a job well done. The company is still growing but they like to hire a lot of people from the outside and don't want to deal with transferring employees to newly opening stores - they'd rather hire a whole new team.

Pros

Clients are friendly most of the time and there is food product training and gratis. Pay is ok but without making store goals you don’t get commission.

Cons

I worked there for many years and my pay only increased $2 during that time even though I was the top seller and went above and beyond. Pay is ok but Because they are free standing stores you have to do garbage and stock and clean the toilets and fix the toilets and everything. Pay should be hirer because everyone had to act like a manager. Store managers do nothing to drive the business, there is also a lot of turn over with district or area manager so reporting problems (ie: Managers and other sales associates cursing at you) fall on deaf ears and nothing gets resolved. There were many many times that pay and commissions or SPIFFS were incorrect. This happened so often that once the DM paid me the difference out of his own pocket. There is no HR department so again reporting issues is horrible. You can send an email to a generic email and hope someone gets back to you in a week (no exaggeration). As many stores as they have, their corporate team is too small (the newly created LP department is 1 person) or incompetent to deal with it.
