Pros

I loved my supervisor! She gave so much helpful feedback, and checked in with me regularly. I also feel like my co-hort of fellows, especially those in the same school as me, were super kind and willing to help.

Cons

I wish I had stayed longer! I see infinite amount of growth happening on a professional and personal level.

Low salary, no pay during summer, no AmeriCorp benefits for resident aliens (DACA etc)

Pros

It is clear that most employees are passionate about educational equity. Management team has friendly, relatable people. Professional development opportunities at least once each week, usually led by someone engaging. Lots of opportunity to (re) learn math in a creative way. Plenty of opportunities to sharpen interpersonal skills both in the classroom and during Professional Development sessions.

Cons

Pay rate is on the lower end. Lots of turnover with teaching fellows who are not ready for the demands of teaching in a classroom, or saw this job as a short term opportunity.
