Pros

Build strong relationships with students Assist struggling students with mathematics Develop a skills set necessary for any career Involved with a rapidly growing tutoring expansion that serves many schools and students around the district (very exciting opportunity!)

Cons

Pay is not the greatest, but no amount of money could compete with the experience Took some time to develop relationships with teachers and administration

Pros

Love my students; love making a difference in a bad neighborhood

Cons

Offer: $21,000 for 10 months with 40 hours a week. Potential $4k bonus. Reality: $21,000 for 11 months with 45 hours a week. Potential $2k bonus. Blueprint will deny that they change things on a daily basis (ie bonus, ability to return next year, what student growth is based on, etc) with no regard for the fellows livelihoods.

You are a teacher but paid like an intern.

Pros

The teamwork with the fellows and teachers is a great experience

Cons

Coordinator not up front. The coordinator makes decisions without discussing them with the fellows and always says we are a team. We are paid like interns.We all have bachelor degrees and higher but we are not respected. We do as much work as the teachers but get treated and paid like we don't.
