Pros

The program allows for small group instruction, staff, parent and administrative support. As a Fellow we are supported through professional development by coordinators and supervisors with clear visions of all aspects of the programs goals. I feel great knowing that I am an asset to heightening student achievement. The Blueprint program offers a very favorable benefit package to all Fellows which is something that I immediately took advantage of it. If you have the experience of a teacher or if you are in college and have no reservations about working with adolescents and you are sincere about the positive future for our youth, then Blueprint is the place for you as a Fellow. I recommend that you join us!

Cons

None at present, very viable program.

Pros

Strong support from coordinator on how to best teach students. Teacher calendar - I really love the vacation time at Christmas and Spring Break. Working with small groups of students helped me learn how to manage adolescents and build strong relationships. I have learned strategies that will I take with me into my own classroom next year. OH - and the 100% paid health insurance really helped me this year.

Cons

Not everyone understands that this is a year of service - that can create some problems with people who complain a lot. We had a lot of challenges this year with technology and resources --- the leadership team needs to make share that fellows always have everything they need to do their jobs. (I can't put attendance online daily if you don't provide me with the technology to actually do it.) They stipend is on $2,000 per month but I knew that going into the position.
