Pros

Your colleagues are great: friendly, knowledgeable and fun to work with

Cons

There isn't much room for upward mobility, the facilities could be improved, the culture is very corporate and frankly outmoded, and it's difficult to get a pay raise unless you leave the company and return later.

Pros

The co-workers and the property that you get to work with are great. Co-workers are passionate about what they do.

Cons

Needs to catch up to the 21st century in terms of advertising, marketing and operations. Who seriously uses fax machines still?

Pros

Met interesting individuals. There is little oversight over what you do and you can really do whatever you want as long as you get close to your targets (assuming they get communicated to you, they usually are rarely made clear).

Cons

There is no working office space and privacy while at work is very hard to come by. Gossip is rampant and it's hard to stay clear and focus on getting actual work done. Since recent leadership left (in several sale departments and HR) communication is horrendous and it had only gotten worse since recent acquisitions of other smaller auction houses (surely they must feel the same).
