Inconsistent culture

Pros

work life balance in Amsterdam, colleagues are great and friendly. Have generous relocation package.

Cons

Be mindful if you want to join Bcom outside of Europe. Company is less likely to grant "real" ownership to local offices - they tend to have AMS own product strategy and treat local offices as feature team rather than product team. That being said, you'll report to a local manager who has no influence on your product area, rather, there's a dot reporting line to a AMS product team who might be confused why you're not truly reporting to them. Local manager and employee have been struggled for quite a long time but this was the best solution that the "leaderships in AMS" thought to be. This is not a specific office issue but I've seen this happen in more than 2 local offices, if you're leaning to a jounior level then it's okay to focus on delivering features but if you're growing to a more senior level who wants to learn more product strategy it's better to work in Amsterdam. Last but not least, local offices have a huge portion of employees hired locally, no offense but the culture could be quite different from the headquarter. Bcom emphasizes so much on inclusive culture and ironically they dont endavour to make consistent culture across offices.

Pros

Relaxed, friendly culture. Everyone is willing to connect and share their experiences, tips and ways of working. Company looks after its employees more than the results.

Cons

Layers of complexity within the org structure, many similar teams in various teams so will need time to understand what everyone does
