Staff works extremely hard, and the "stars" work even harder. On the up-side, senior leaders are well compensated through bonuses for performance, but it's often way to hard to say "no" to work. The firm's leadership sometimes finds it difficult to make hard decisions on what NOT to pursue in terms of new business. The recent equity buy-out has "corporatized" the firm somewhat and has some staff on edge that the culture of the firm will suffer.

I have never been at a job where I am more disrespected on a continual basis. The Senior Associates in my group treat people like garbage; they have been blatantly condescending, rude, and abusive and more than once I've seen them act completely unethical to feed their own egos. I am jumping ship in a few weeks and I can't wait to be at a normal place where I'm valued as a human being. The bottom line for management is making money regardless of the quality of work we give to our clients or what is best for the client. Egos are put before the client continually; I can't imagine that the Booz reputation will stay in tact with all of the infighting that goes on here. People say whatever they want to get what they want - and these folks often get ahead. I see in recent reviews that people are writing the salary is good; maybe Booz has gotten better in this area. I came in a with a salary about 10-15k lower than other big consulting firms but was ok with that since money wasn't my number one priority. After one year I got a cost of living increase which my managers said was a 'raise'. My friends in government make more than I do.
