Pros

Employees care about each other and see the importance of their role in the big picture. Just had a fun 5 year celebration and met so many others who love what they do. BMC has an annual survey for employees to provide input on their areas so they can retain great workers. The hospital is always implementing changes that continue to improve and expand patient services. A new campus expansion project is underway through 2017.

Cons

Can't think of any at this time...

Pros

Great mission helping needy patients

Cons

Sr management promote people with little experience who are young and inexperienced in healthcare who happen to be friends bypassing internal employees who are older. HR does nothing about it since they do it too! Several people promoted to white female Practice Managers promoted are barely out of college with no healthcare experience ! Directors promoted with no clinical background! The outlook is scary if these people are making decisions!

Pros

You are making a difference here. I love working with many of my co-workers. Despite complaints to the contrary, benefits are competitive with other major employers in the city.

Cons

There is a large amount of disconnect or lack of empathy between senior management and rank-and-file staff. Employees have been asked to do more with far fewer resources over time. Changes are made unilaterally in the name of cost savings, at the cost of quality patient care. HR moves slowly, even by the standards of most major employers, and there is little to no support for those seeking advancement.
