Fine but poor management

Pros

The customers can be fun to chat with and get to know, I’ve become very friendly with many over the years! It’s also fun to geek out with fellow nerds!!

Cons

Upper management plays favorites hard core. People become store manager with little to no experience. Our current store manager had brushed me off several times when I have brought up issues but he views all of my concerns as not important. Lack of communication form higher ups and the pay is NOT competitive!!

Pros

In my experience, a job with BoxLunch is like working with a group of friends you hadn't met yet. I had the privilege of working with an incredible variety of people from all different backgrounds, and we were all united by a genuine love for the IPs we worked with.

Cons

In my experience, corporate management is not interested in listening to the concerns or feedback of their "on the ground" staff. At the location where I worked, store management reported employee harassment concerns, but corporate didn't provide realistic solutions for the problem. Instead, the solution they proposed would have resulted in cutting store hours. This was at a time when there already were not enough hours to consistently maintain the staff needed at the store. Part-time retail work is by nature not a consistent paycheck, but corporate's attitude toward cutting hours and dismissing staff concerns was frustrating. There also seems to be some inconsistency with salary reevaluation, but I did not have personal experience with that issue.

Pros

I loved my coworkers and the company. It was so wonderful getting to know what is popular at the time and to be able to build a connection with customers.

Cons

They don’t offer competitive pay. Out of all the stores in a mall box lunch is one of the lowest paying jobs. The company is aware of it and are not willing to work with you for better pay.
