Great company, mediocre pay

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Owned by Hot Topic, this company has been around a long time. They have a solid infrastructure and base for training and growing employees. Their employee ten-year is a very long list and they have great benefits.

Cons

The pay starts at minimum wage and management is paid at the lower end of the position standard. The amount of work and knowledge required for the job is not reflected in the pay or time allotted for the work.

Pros

- Employee/immediate family discount - Friendly coworkers - Licensed merchandise - Fairly flexible scheduling - Learn about retail - Crosstraining

Cons

- Payroll lacked in hours (between 2 to 4 hours a week at times) - Will remove your hours as a punishment for not meeting weekly sales goals - Push to upsell and harass potential customers around the store about promotions - Too much management for a tiny store - Management will not step in if customer is unruly - No hiring from within - Commission based sales tactics without the commission - Conversation is prioritized - Micromanaged - High stress with zero motivation
