Pros

The developers, account managers, technical support are all really smart and there is a lot to learn from everyone around. Great benefits including paternity leave, flexible vacation policy, fully stocked kitchen.

Cons

People in the director or above positions are amazing individual contributors but have little experience or skills with leading their teams, especially in the SF office. As a result, the attrition rate is high. More than 60% of the employees leave within 2 years. Senior managers have the skills but do not do right because they get played into the favoritism game. The company takes pride in making decisions on employee growth and development based on data and outcomes but what really works is being the "yes man".

Pros

Really cool to work for a company that builds software influencing some of the most well respected tech brands in the space. And doing it from Chicago :) Perks are amazing ... daily catered lunch, office bar, good benefits, neat workspace, etc. The work is also very challenging, so refreshing to be pushed on a daily basis. Kudos to higher ups about incorporating a flat structure and being very open and forthcoming with info about the state of the business.

Cons

As you go from <100 employees to 400+ in a few years there are some changes you have to get used to, but that's what happens to every successful business that is growing. Not to say these changes are bad, just shakes things up.

Pay, bonuses, benefits, catered meals, career development, work-life balance, independence from PayPal

Cons

Subsidiary of PayPal, occasionally the politics of PayPal bleed over.
