Pros

There's a great benefits package.

Cons

My experience with management has been challenging, to say the least. They set unrealistic expectations and consistently overlook persistent issues that lead to increased accounts receivable (AR), which creates an unnecessary workload for our team. Often, we are assigned tasks that should be handled by other departments, and when problems arise, we are the ones who are reprimanded. Meanwhile, those who are truly responsible for the bulk of these issues are rarely held accountable for their mistakes. Instead of investing in our current workforce by offering competitive wages, management tends to outsource work to individuals who lack the necessary expertise. Additionally, we are expected to follow up on 100 claims a day despite the industry standard being around 60. Most of these claims involve eligibility issues that should have been caught by the employees specifically hired for that purpose. The credentialing department also struggles with efficiency. When we inquired about them possibility of using our new EHR system, which could help in managing credentialing issues more effectively, we were told it was because they don’t know how to use it. This response would not have been acceptable had it come from our team. Overall, the current management approach has created significant challenges for us, making it difficult to perform our jobs effectively.

Pros

4 weeks paid vacation, plus paid floating holidays, plus paid sick days; medical benefits and insurance benefits; $250 reimbursement for job-related needs/expenses; 401K plan.

Cons

You get paid sick days but you have to give 2 weeks advance notice (which is understandable); but if you have to take an emergency day or time off, be prepared to get an almost threatening email (and it goes out to everyone!), about taking that emergency day off, instead of getting a call of concern to find out what happened. For a therapeutic agency, their management team needs to take a course in effective, productive and kind communication. Seriously. Management doesn't care about burnout from scheduling you with 40 clients per week, back-to-back, every hour on the hour; and if your client doesn't show up or cancels last minute, then your metrics are affected and you can find yourself getting a PIP (performance improvement plan) because you are held responsible for clients not showing up, and you will lose your job if your clients continue to not show up, cancel, etc. As a relatively new start-up of over 6 years, there is constant change with insufficient training (or one-on-one training). Upper management DOES NOT LISTEN to the concerns of their therapists (it feels like most of the time), they just push back at you. Lower management is sympathetic, but really can't effect change or concerns. Company meetings have to do with numbers. They don't address the needs and concerns of the therapists: burn out, and unrealistic expectations. Upper management is quick to criticize and slow to praise. They want you to get additional licenses, certifications, and run groups, but your salary does not change (you may get a one-time bonus, while the company gets continuous additional income from you and your additional services).

Pros

salaried, some of the benefits, telehealth

Cons

The job is not only overwhelming but you get micromanaged. You have to meet a quote of at least 7 clients per day and if you don't, you're cut off and fired on the spot. They will tell you in the interview, as they did with me, that they "know REALISTICALLY the clients cancel and you will average 5-6 a day." but as my supe kept telling me, at the end of the day it's a business so they DO NOT CARE FOR YOU OR THE CLIENTS. They expect you to get notes done within the hour and no later than the end of your 8 hour day, but the work load, especially contacting clients how they demand, takes more than 8 hours in a day, especially when you're required to facilitate a support group. Here's a kicker, while they continue to expand to different states and continue to hire therapists (and fire associate therapists), they contracted a third party qualified supervision for interns, but they only pay for 3 supe hours a month, anymore and you have to pay out of pocket. They don't care about your boundaries as a provider, your job is to have 8 hours filled every day, even though there's not enough clients for all the therapists they hire AND there ARE slow downs on intakes. But at the end of the day it's still a business and it's your fault if your hours are not filled. They also don't transition clients how they ethically should. They fire therapist so much that I have had clients that have switched therapists 3-5 times and they tell the client last minute "Your therapist unexpectedly left Brave" when in reality they cut them off. They are literally letting go of GREAT therapists because the higher ups need their money. Something I always found funny, you get 2 weeks of PTO per year, but you accrue 2.5 hours of sick visit per pay, so about 5hrs a month of sick visit. So if you call out without sick hours, then you use your PTO, then you have no PTO later. They want you to stay working while "avoiding burn out". They're "support", is to give you more information on how to manage burnout while you literally are on survival mode trying to meet unrealistic expectations.
