      The drive and innovation is dead

      Pros

      The company used to have a lot of benefits and perks when I worked there, but current employees have said these benefits have been cut.

      Cons

      The executive leadership of Brewer Science are so disconnected from the company's capabilities and individual contributors that they are completely incapable of leading the company to success. The company has coasted on a technology that is quickly becoming outdated and does not have the motivation, ambition, innovation to pivot and become successful in a new technology. This company is going to fail without making major changes to leadership and start being a technology leader again.

      Flexible work schedule Rural location Free Parking PPE is optional for those who are daredevils

      Cons

      -Dead-end road for non-Phd employees -Favoritism/Good old boy ethics keeps silos in place. -No moral standards- customers’ priorities valued over all else -Zero accountability for management, and no pathway improvement. -Only requirement for becoming a manager is to have a Phd, or pretend to be an expert in any subject matter. -Directors are not concerned about lower level employees concerns and see them as replaceable. -Most managers have no prior experience outside of academia. -There are “Talent Retention Specialists “, but they are not even able to offer anything other than an exit interview. Absolutely no attempts made to retain valuable assets.

      Pros

      Company has an inspiring story of how it got to where it is. Awesome industry to be in right now with the importance of semiconductor products continuing to grow. Very talented scientists and engineers. Purported values are encouraging to a prospective employee. Treated very well if you like to play the game. Working in a cross-team structure is common and everyone in other departments is generally very nice to work with. Great benefits. If your manager is a good leader, those employees tend to be very happy.

      Cons

      Compensation (aside from benefits) is well below industry standard. HR and Legal - turnover rate is very high--red flag when you see this in these particular departments. Way too much time dedicated to internal meetings. Corporate politics --pro or con depending on your personality.
