Pros

The staff who are working with the clients although the pay is poor.

Cons

The pay is low. There aren't any opportunities for pay increases. If there's a promotion, the pay is still low. Some management is poorly trained. Decisions are made from Corporate with little or no regard to how things are down in the field and how those decisions will affect the field.

Pros

Provides supports/services to individuals in need

Cons

Although ResCare is a "for profit company" that is worth "BILLIONS of dollars", it is corporate "policy" to never give its employees pay raises; the pay rate you begin with is the same pay you will leave the company with - there are employees that have been with ResCare for 10+ years that have NEVER received a raise OR a performance appraisal. Valuable employees are lost every single day because they do not feel appreciated. The company's direction is never uniform - there are policy changes and new work demands almost monthly that, again, are not met with any kind pay increase (demands on management and staff alike). Local upper management is not consistent - some employees (from the hourly employee all the way up) are held accountable to certain company standards/policies and others are not, even if the policy violation is exactly the same.
