Pros

The local operation had a strong sense of family. They bonded together to form a family atmosphere with little to no Corporate involvement. The employee SHARE program was unique.

Cons

Where to begin....low pay, high benefit costs, no pay increases but additional duties added constantly to your job. The culture at ResCare centers around the almighty profit line for this company. They would rather create positions inside the Corporate offices to syphon more money from the local operations as opposed to giving it to those who deserve it- the direct line staff! If you want to work for an agency that cares only about profit then go work for ResCare- they do not stand for what the name means....RESPECT and CARE! They should be called "CareFit" cause they only care about profits not their employees.

Pros

You can gain experience while contributing meaningfully to the lives of persons with disabilities. The community of healthcare workers sticks together.

Cons

Due to constant staffing issues, administrators are frequently required to work direct care and respond at all hours of day and night for emergencies. Managers are overworked and underpaid, and all staff are under appreciated and therefore tend to be disgruntled.

Pros

Staff works hard to meet the goals set forth by management and WIOB board although the benchmark can be set at unreasonable expectations.

Cons

New Staff are not property trained. Supervisors can be verbally abusive towards employees. Was told by supervisor to claim lunches that were never taken to prevent overtime. Director is rude to employees and creates a constant air of tension in the office. Health benefits and pay are horrible. Employees are unwilling to report issues to HR due to fear of retaliation from management.
