Pros

Working with the disabled and special needs clients is a beautiful thing. They are very loving and special. I enjoy making a difference.

Cons

Staff thinks they can tell nurses what to do- do not understand they don't have a degree. Leave clients unattended frequently, in bathtub or other dangerous areas. The company does not value nurses and pays them low wages. Lots of gossip and blaming among team members and nurses. Antiquated practices, patients are exposed to far too many X-rays for legal immunity. Some clients may be emotionally or verbally abused.

Pros

The employees at the Resource Center are treated very well. My directors are very understanding when it comes to needing to take part of a day for illness, car issues, etc. I was impressed by the fact that they actually provide employee onboarding and yearly training. I was given everything I needed in order to start off on the right foot, rather than being thrown to the sharks on my first day. There is actually a culture at ResCare, unlike other companies I've worked for. I have not yet met anyone who is unnecessarily nasty to people/ I feel like a valued member of my team. I have never felt more welcomed at a place of employment than I do at ResCare.

Cons

As with any large corporation, health insurance costs are high. But I do understand the reasons for the high price tag; the more people on the payroll, the greater the risk, and, therefore, the higher the cost.

Cons

so short of staff, high turnover, and you get stuck on the clock working in a home for 25hrs.
