Pros

People can be cool and have some sense of morals.

Cons

Have you ever thought to yourself “wow, I want my fifth-year frat president to be my boss”? If you have, look no further for the perfect role! The definition of insanity is “doing the same thing, over and over and expecting different results”. Brightedge decided this notion is perfect for their business model. Not much room for growth unless you nail this business model. Most managers are previous SDRs straight outta college so they’ve only had a Brightedge job or their college internship as experience. Just for reference, they don’t understand business. The company itself is private and has built a toxic drinking culture and generally, no HR involvement. Have the time of your life here trying to survive!

Pros

Experience in the SaaS industry.

Cons

It feels like BE as a whole is merely just an executive team and everybody else is outside of that, merely working "for" BE instead of working as a part of it. This fosters a do-as-you're-told environment with continous communication issues, often causing teams to be siloed, working under conflicting information, competing metrics, and consistently answering the same issues over and over again instead of enacting positive change management. For example: when I left my role I was still reporting on updates for a project that had been offline for 6 months (because two team members quit) and when I asked to stop the reporting I was told to continue the monitoring "just because." Out of the four people that have ever been on my team, three of them left before I did so the lack of involvement and responsibility is apparent. Lastly, my yearly review was 5 minutes long.

Pros

- Free lunch on Friday? That is all I can think of

Cons

- Micromanagement like you've never seen before. - Unattainable goals - High attrition rates - Inexperienced Management that plays favorites often - Cutthroat culture, everyone out for themselves Brightedge does a great job of selling themselves to inexperienced college grads that are just entering the workforce - don't fall for it. You can make just as much money at any other reputable tech company, with far less stress. Only about 5% of BDR hires at BrightEdge will make it to AE, the rest will either leave for something better or be forced out. DO NOT WORK HERE
