Pros

Recently, many of the issues mentioned in my review have been addressed, so I am updating my review accordingly. I complained that they weren't giving us access to the tech we needed to make progress, and they are suddenly saying that they are reconsidering allowing us to have GPUs to experiment with and Python libraries like Pandas to make our work easier. Mastercard has made improvements to management, such as adding the excellent Ann, and brought in new high-level talent like JD. Having more expert guidance makes a big difference. Akli is clearly making an effort to relax a bit more (he finally took some vacation!) and control his temper. When he's in a good mood, we can learn a lot from him about business strategy and his AI algorithms. Mastercard has also gotten us a fancy new office space and computers. The new office space will help with the current crowding & noise levels once we get to move into it. We've brought on a lot of new talent in every department, and new ideas and enthusiasm are rising quickly.

Cons

Still significantly below market salary, with caps put in place by Mastercard saying that no technical person (software engineer, data scientist, etc) can ever make more than 165k no matter how good they are or how much they have helped the company. This would be reasonable if we were workers in a factory assembly line, and there was a physical limit to how much productivity we could have, but with technical workers, the contributions from an exceptional employee may be a hundred or a thousand times more valuable than the contributions from a mediocre employee.

Pros

Brighterion's products are cutting-edge, companies love using and rely on them, plus the reputation we have is outstanding. Everyone who works at Brighterion truly has the opportunity to impact the trajectory of the company. As an engineer, Brighterion gives me the resources I need as well as the autonomy to discover, grow, and produce. More importantly, people are friendly, open and willing to work together

Cons

Nothing in life is perfect, but there's not much I'd change.

Pros

A very successful company with a lot of potential. People at Brighterion are driven by the ability to make major impact with the ability to drive solutions to important problems. There is a great deal of trust in employees to do the right thing and to get their work done on time.

Cons

You have to be comfortable working in an unstructured environment and be able to handle frequent change.
