Pros

Pro: working in one location

Cons

Brightview... how can I put into words how this corporate company treats employees and their residents. Let’s just sum it up saying it’s corporate. Like anything else they only care about getting money. They don’t assess residents for the right care, they don’t listen to their aides when they are on the verge of a burnout because work loads are getting heavy due to residents health are declining and needing more attention. Things go unnoticed for them. Aides will get heavy work load that run around like crazy and can’t be in two places at once but for a company they tell everyone they can have anything they want when they want. So aides run around like chickens with their heads cut off barely get a chance to run to the bathroom before pendants are going off. Brightview doesn’t respect their workers, especially the ones who work hard and spend time with the residents the most: the aides. Aides have to constantly apologize to residents for being late to answering their pendants because there isn’t enough help on the floor and co workers don’t always want to work with one another. Poor residents who need help constantly have to wait sometimes for help because there’s no help because they are short handed.

We are very disheartened to read this feedback and we'd love an opportunity to listen. We absolutely know how vital our resident aides are to the success of Brightview Senior Living. We have a very robust Wellness Program for residents and our associates. We offer a training course through Brightview University called, "Care for the Caregiver" because we truly believe our aides need to think about their needs as well. We'd love for you to call our home office at (410) 962.0595 and speak to the Director of Employee Relations. We can assure confidentialty and your concerns will be heard.

We are so happy to hear you found your job rewarding and felt you had a great supervisor. We know both are important to truly enjoying any job. Statistics have taught us when the trust and relationship break down between an employee and their supervisor, then the employee is more likely to leave the company. I’m happy to hear you had this at Brightview. It is disappointing, however, that we left you with the impression that we don't care about our employees and residents. We have an outside 3rd party administer conduct an Associate Satisfaction and Resident Satisfaction survey annually. Then we spend a good portion of the remaining year, working on improving our scores based on that feedback. We find that our scores are consistently over 82% which we understand is much higher than our competitors. As good as we’ve performed in those areas, we won’t rest on our laurels. We are continually looking for ways to improve. Same goes with this feedback, we’d love to know more. If you'd like to share more, please call our home office at (410) 962-0595 and ask for the Director of Employee Relations. Otherwise, we wish you well and thank you for the review.

Pros

I am amazed at the gift I received in the mail today! Brightview will take NO payroll DEDUCTION for Health Insurance in the month of December. The card states that our company-wide efforts to make smart, healthy choices have resulted in health plan costs that have been lower than expected and they are sharing the savings. I am blown away with their transparency and decision to give this savings back to their associates. I also just learned we have no increases on any of our benefits next year. Simply the best news!

Cons

I've worked for many companies, none have been perfect, so no deal breaker "cons" to share but I will restate that Brightview truly cares about people which include our employees, residents, families, pets etc.. These are real people making the important decisions and people are top of mind.
