Pros

Brightview is a great company- I've worked for them for over a decade. It's rare to find a company in today's world that has strong, down to earth owners. They are continuously developing new practices, hiring experts to train in the different departments, and most importantly always evaluating their practices. Unlike many companies they care and want to hear feedback from front line staff. For example they created another position for memory care when they heard consistent feedback that it was too much for one director to manage all of the residents under assisted living. The training for front life staff involves real face to face classroom training. I think this is priceless. We have good health care benefits and different options to choose from. There are many opportunities for advancement at Brightview, I have been in a few different roles in my tenure so I am proof you can grow and move up. The longer you are with Brightview the more PTO you earn which is great. There are also a variety of fringe benefits in our associate handbook. Brightview has competitive wages and I have always received an annual increase.

Cons

You have to like team work, especially at a director level, so if that is not for you, you probably will not thrive.

Pros

growth opportunity. anyone can start not certificate needed.

Cons

unorganized (Catonsville). Old management was more organized now it seems like the place is slowly falling apart and management says they care about the employees but don't listen. Its a fashion statement place between management and the real issues gets brushed under the rug. can be a gossip house at times.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Every year we conduct a confidential employee engagement survey through a third party so we can get the most candid feedback on how we're doing. We reviewed the most recent survey for Brightview Catonsville and overall they scored 7.6% higher than the National Benchmark average. More specifically, we reviewed our highest scoring factors which included: caring for our associates, employee opinions count, trust of the leadership, respect for their supervisor and a few additional categories. Every year, we monitor the results of the survey and take action where we deem appropriate in maintaining a Great Place to Work. Thanks again for your review.

Pros

The residents and the team I cultivated.

Cons

Directors are held to vastly different performance standards based on popularity and standing with senior management (one can do no right despite excellent performance, one can do no wrong despite mediocre or worse performance). Workload is impossible to manage, especially because all manner of responsibilities are heaped on, despite many being well beyond the scope of that Director's department (i.e. the good Directors get worked into the ground because the favored few manage to shrug their responsibilities off onto them.)
