Not as glamorous as it appears

Pros

Steady income with solid benefits program and many departments offer telecommute or work from home programs for full time employees.

Cons

Not a lot of upward mobility in certain departments within the company and most positions are not specifically music industry related although the company uses its music industry status as a way to make its entry level positions more desirable and competitive and thus underpays a lot of the entry level positions.

Pros

at first I felt recognized for my hard work

Cons

As time has gone on and many changes have happened... Management must constantly sharpen the pencil leaving no lead for the employees to work with. No advancement opportunity. 1.50 raise in 5 years. Very difficult to feel appreciated.

Out of touch and management is incompetent

Pros

Offices and staff are great.

Cons

Company while in NYC is steeped in tradition of the old South and is desperately tying to be cutting edge and remain relevant. Despite a considerable loss of income, the overspending is off the charts. Creating a new " brand" for BMI at $1.5 million isn't going to solve their problem.
