Pros

Within Broadcom, there are pockets of great people that it is a privilege to work with. Often, their managers don't get it however or they doing the wrong thing, but this doesn't stand in the way of enjoying working with them.

Cons

The infinite holiday policy that stops you taking off over 2 weeks without managers approval (and some managers are idiots and stop this from happening). Majority of the engineers are either not worthy of being employed or worse, doing mischief instead of real work. Its clear that rivalries between teams is very unhealthy and you end up with countries such as India being 'at war' with other engineering teams for interesting work, reqs or other medals that the company gives out to people with the best strategies.

Pros

I worked as a contractor to Broadcom. They have some very nice benfits, but they have some very negative benifits;

Cons

Where do you work where a company hires a contractor and then after a few months decides they are no longer want them? Even if they got you good reviews for the time you were there? Is not the best experience.

Pros

None that I can remember of

Cons

The list can take 10 pages but I can summarize in a few lines....they just port the same circuits since 10 years and they do not know even the reason (except we always did this way kinda of answer). Plus they do not like thinking people (considered trouble makers)...they prefer button pushers (just do it you are not paid to think). If you have a good Ph.D. it is a total waste of your time and talent being in BRCM
