Pros

Good overall culture. Scott McGregor has great vision and the company has a good roadmap.

Cons

More senior employees do not feel respected and valued. Seems like the team has high turnovers (due to better opportunities elsewhere) and senior members being replaced with more and more junior (thus cheaper) engineers. Vacation policy (no longer accumulation based) is just pure wrong. Compensation is unfair (under market value especially for senior people). A lot of work but no reward (which leads to lack of motivation and turnovers).

Pros

* if u have no job and get an offer from this company, this is a good stepping stone while u learn * I think this is still a stable company (no layoff yet)

Cons

* no vacation (unlimited vacation in management term) = 1/2 - 3/4 months of money less than other companies for many employees * No raise for promotion (neither stock or salary) ....if I knew this earlier, I would not like a promotion! * almost no matching on 401k (1.2%? don't remember the smaller fraction!!) * fire-fighter style with no money rewards!

Pros

- Challenging work - OK compensation (but get worse each year) - Relative stable company in this bad economy.

Cons

- No work/life balance. - In fire fighting mode all the times, reactive mode. - Lower level managers (in MPG) have access to you anytime (late night and/or weekends) - Low level managers show no respect to teams - No vacation time allocated. Need VP approval for more than 2 weeks but most of the times your managers won't even consider it so VP does not need to approve. - Don't know who our HR representative is. If there is an issue with managers don't know who to turn to. - Engineers are overloaded - No support and encouragement for higher education
