Pros

This is the best group of people on the planet to work with. Leave your drama at the door and be ready to solve hard problems and have a blast doing it. The work-life balance is great, much better than any other company I have worked for in the last 10+ years. Build.com focus is on US customers, thus avoiding the complexity most international sellers have. The cost of living in Chico is also much better then the mega cities. Great place to raise a family.

Cons

Small city, but very fun place to be if you like the outdoors. Not a lot of process, but that allows you to go faster and get the job done.

Pros

If you work hard, there are plenty of opportunities for you to advance your career. You just have to know what you want, and not be shy about taking on new challenges. Hard workers who work SMART tend to be rewarded here. I personally have been promoted several times in the two years i've worked here, been given lots of good paid training, and as others have mentioned have benefitted from tons of free food and other little perks. Yesterday hansgrohe gave every employee a new shower head.

Cons

Seems like peoples experience can vary by dept to dept. I am lucky enough to work under a manager who cares about my career, and provides honest feedback. I constantly ask how i'm doing, so I know where I stand, but it seems others may not have such a great experience.

Thanks for the honest review. All good comments. As far as your advise to management, dully noted. We have a promote from within culture, and sometimes we don't do enough leadership training. We've went through some major leadership turnover over the last year and things have gotten better, but could be MUCH better. We'll work harder on it.

Pros

Perks, opportunity, good pay, fun environment, challenging, sense of community, excellent leadership

Cons

When sales are down, company tightens up a lot which can be a bit of a culture shock when you aren't ready for it.

Thank you for the feedback. For the cons, yes. We're prudent, but that protects better against layoffs in downward moving markets. Agreed on the internal hiring process. We should have review sessions for those that don't get jobs. Great suggestion I'll pass on to HR.
