Pros

Culture, Co-workers, Employee Perks, Company Events, and so much more. I loved working at Build.com and really miss all my old co-workers who quickly became family. Great company with lots of growth opportunities for go-getters.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of.

Pros

Direct management is great and enjoyable to work with. Build team understands people have a life outside of work and provide a flexible schedule. Employees can work from anywhere and they use chat apps and video conferencing software to help you feel connected to coworkers. Coworkers are great and easy going, a few have been leaving with the uncertainty of transitioning to parent corporation. Decent benefits, not horrible but also not the best. Management great with time off requests as long as work gets done.

Cons

Becoming more corporate and employees seem more like a number than before. Parent corporation is driving technical direction and is going away from home built software. The company is transitioning and could be a great opportunity in the future once the dust settles but salaries are barely competitive and increases don’t occur every year. Big corporation wouldn’t be bad if compensation matched. We no longer have social events that made Build fun and made up for lack of pay or benefits.

Pros

Ability to work from home

Cons

Very cliquey group at least within IT. Reluctance to share information among team members doesn’t make for a good collaborative experience. People will knowlingly lead you down the wrong path all in the name of job security. A good place to get your feet wet if you’re just starting your development career but this is not where you want to stay.
