Great people, lots of fun work activities. Plenty of opportunities to move up or change jobs within the company

Cons

Unrealistic expectations and can be very short sighted.

I've been hearing a theme about people being frustrated about the rigors we expect out of people. I'm sorry if you felt like expectations were too high. Please feel free to email me directly and I'd love to see if we can make some changes if we're being unrealistic on performance.

Pros

Relatively casual atmosphere, nice people!

Cons

Company changing from a service-oriented call center to churn-and-burn sales. Walking away from the values that built them.

Build.com has been built on serving homeowners and those who serve homeowners since our inception. If you feel that there is a bias towards professional tradespeople, that is not true. We're not a supply house, but designed around helping homeowners find exactly what they need for their remodel. We also cater to an extensive contractor base that has very specific needs. I'm sorry if you feel that we've veered too far towards investing in contractors, I'll definitely examine our resource allocations and make a determination. We do however still have an amazing customer satisfaction score, so the data suggests we're still serving them well. I appreciate your concerns and thank you for posting.

Hard to Let Them Go

Pros

I love my team and department. I came here four and a half years ago expecting to stay for maybe six months, and I just haven't been able to leave. They've been super supportive of my education, and expanding my knowledge and letting me work on side projects that I am passionate about.

Cons

You're dealing with hardware, plumbing, and lighting. Not the most glamorous or fulfilling industry, but the people you work with make up for that.

Thank you for the kind review. I agree, I just find humor in telling people that I'm an Internet toilet salesman, it gets a lot of laughs. Appreciate you staying with the family and I hope your side projects are going well too!
