High turnover and inconsistent leadership

Pros

Good collaboration among coworkers,l and a sense of teamwork at the team level that helps people get through day-to-day work.

Cons

High turnover across multiple levels, including leadership, creates ongoing instability. There have been workforce reductions that felt unclear in how they were communicated. Customer support teams in particular seem heavily impacted, with frequent churn and staffing changes that make it difficult to maintain consistency. Managers at the team level often appear under-supported, especially for longer-tenured employees.

Pros

Overall it has been a strong experience for anyone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and being part of a growing tech company. The biggest positive is the people. The team is filled with smart, motivated individuals who genuinely want customers to succeed. Leadership is very focused on growth and innovation, and there’s a lot of opportunity to learn new skills quickly. If you’re self-driven and enjoy ownership over your projects, you’ll likely do well here. The role itself can be very rewarding because you get to work closely with commercial contractors and help improve how their businesses operate. Every implementation is different, which keeps the work interesting and challenging. Overall, I would recommend BuildOps to someone who enjoys a high-growth environment, likes customer-facing work, and wants exposure to both technology and operations.

Cons

The environment is definitely fast-paced. Priorities can shift quickly, and workloads can become heavy during busy periods. Like many growing software companies, processes are still evolving, so adaptability is important. Communication between departments can sometimes improve as the company scales.

Incredible leadership, smart and motivated team, and a culture that makes work genuinely enjoyable. People care, collaborate, and move fast together

Cons

It’s a fast paced environment, but if you enjoy fast moving environments with a lot of opportunity to make an impact, it’s an exciting place to be!

Thank you for sharing this. The collaboration and speed you're describing is core to how we operate, and it's encouraging to hear it comes through on the Marketing team specifically. Protecting that culture as we scale is something we're actively focused on. -BuildOps Team
