Pros
Builders FirstSource is a second chance company. The hiring process and interview were very easy and conducted in a very professional manner. Overall it is a great place to work for and the opportunity for advancement are there. The benefits are really good and everything is done online thru their portal. I've enjoyed working there and if possible I would stay.
Cons
The connection between upper management and the low laborer can be better. Upper management has a tendency to withhold information of the reasons and outlook for the division I work with. Our hours have been cut and no solid reason or outlook is given. Upper management distance themselves from the production floor (especially 2nd shift) and leaves the immediate supervisor to deal with the anxiety of what is really happing or going on. The answers given have a tendency to change from day to day. The disconnect lowers moral of those of us who like and would consider staying with the company.
