Would NOT work for them again

Pros

Beer on tap and snacks.

Cons

Low pay and very little visibility across departments and management levels. Once you leave the company, Jeff(one of the owners) will all but condemn you and leave you feeling like the interaction was more of a high school breakup than a professional parting.

Toxic Culture, Outdated Leadership and Forced Initiatives

Pros

You'll gain resilience and a strong tolerance for chaos. A good place to learn what kind of company you don’t want to work for.

Cons

Buildertrend presents itself as an innovative and employee-friendly company, but the reality is far from it. The culture is toxic, with a leadership team dominated by men who are resistant to meaningful change. Decision-making is top-down, and employee voices—especially those outside of leadership’s inner circle—are largely ignored. While many companies have moved toward more balanced, meaningful inclusion efforts, Buildertrend continues to push DEI initiatives in a way that feels more like a box-checking exercise than real progress. These efforts seem more focused on appearances than on creating a truly inclusive environment, especially when leadership remains overwhelmingly homogenous and resistant to genuine cultural shifts. HR leadership is particularly problematic—rather than being true advocates for employees, they are more focused on playing office politics and protecting leadership’s interests. Instead of understanding the existing (albeit outdated) processes before implementing changes, they charge ahead without context, making things even more frustrating for employees. Their lack of strategic vision only adds to the dysfunction. If you’re looking for a place that values diverse perspectives, professional growth, and a healthy work environment, I’d advise looking elsewhere.
