Pros

The company was amazing to work for prior to Covid. There was was a ton of growth opportunities but there isn’t much now per our career portal. Benefits are great. PTO policy is good.

Cons

MANAGEMENT! Managers and directors seem to be promoted prematurely and not good leaders. The Sales team is notorious for displaying toxic behavior to other departments. Pay! I’ve referred qualified candidate whom declined offers due to the low pay. Toxic behavior from management and up is tolerated due to titles. Employees are burnt out. This is a company I would have recommended 10 times over; not anymore. The core values they drill in us do not apply to leadership. We have eNPS and the negative responses are glazed over because they say “they only represent a small number”. That small number does A LOT for this company yet our thoughts and feelings are invalid. They also claim to be promoters for working parents; that’s false (seems to only apply to the “elite” club). Employees have been asked to put their children in daycare. Employees are quiet quitting and resigning without opportunities lined up

There is a lot to absorb in this review. We are 1600+ people now, and when we look at the eNPS or survey results, we don’t skim over any of the “negative” but instead, put into context to the overall results. No one’s feelings are invalid here. In fact, at every town hall, I encourage any employee to come and talk to me if they are struggling or are challenged with leadership/work loads/etc or want to share some feedback. This opportunity would also extend to you, if you chose to have a conversation about your challenges. At the end of the day, it’s impossible to make everyone 100% happy. There are people that Bullhorn is a great fit for, and there are people that find happiness and fulfillment in other types of working environments. It sounds like while Bullhorn was once a great fit for you, it no longer is, and I would encourage you to look for another job. Life is too important and too short to be miserable at work. My offer always stands and my calendar is open if you want to grab time to discuss. – Kelley Morse, Chief People Officer.

Typical Large Soulless Corporation

Pros

The product is best in class. Opportunity to work with extremely skilled and talented individuals. There are some exceptionally smart people working here. Many colleagues are experts in their space. Much to learn from coworkers. DEI program is well developed. Folks of all walks of life work here. If you are a gunner go-getter and ready to climb the corporate ladder whilst knocking others off to their demise, you'll do well here.

Cons

Leadership, management, and the choices they make to protect themselves at their subordinates expense. Management consistently argues amongst themselves and cast blame externally rather than taking accountability. From the top down. It's bad. The work environment is toxic, for example "Do as I say, not as I do" is common. Constructive criticism and dissent are punished, often by termination. "We're all one big family" trope. Core values are drilled into the foot soldiers while management and leadership habitually and hypocritically ignore them. Most of my teammates were facing severe burnout. Work/life balance is not present nor a priority for management. Compensation is not competitive.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. It sounds like your experience here is not representative of the experience most of our employees have, or the strong culture we work so hard to maintain. The behaviors you describe are not ones we accept within our organization and we have a zero tolerance policy for retalitation. I highly encourage you to reach out to me (or anyone on the leadership team) directly - we can have a confidential chat and I can provide help or guidance as necessary. My calendar is up to date. - Kelley Morse, CPO.

Admittedly crazy times, but still great

Pros

Reading some of the recent reviews I feel I need to set the record straight. If I were applying to a job at Bullhorn I'd look here and I don't want potentially awesome coworkers to be steered away! The reality is it's a really crazy time at Bullhorn. We've acquired a lot of companies, we have a ton of new products, and we're all moving 100 miles a second. But it is still great. The product is still cool (getting cooler) and the company just keeps adding benefits to support us. Yes, there's less free blocks on my calendar these days. But our charge is clear and motivating.

Cons

This isn't a 9-5 company. If you are looking for that, Bullhorn (and I imagine any software company) isn't the right choice.
