Pros

The colleagues I work with are great and make my work days that much more enjoyable. Varied work and a professional enviroment means the company is efficient and effective.

Cons

Inter department relationships can struggle and sometimes I believe the company finds it difficult to identify areas where we need additional help or equally where there is an issue with fair salary.

I see a solution to some of your "cons" within your "pros." We do have incredibly talented employees here at Bullhorn, and have the power to improve interdepartmental communication at the individual level. Leadership does a lot behind the scenes to identify and solve areas of imbalance, but it is also helpful for employees to speak up if you feel something is unfair. As you note, each of us is what makes Bullhorn a great place to come to work each day!

Pros

Bullhorn should put on a workshop for how to evolve a startup. The work/life balance is fantastic, (evolved far past individual contributors working in the "wild west"), HR and line level managers are insanely active in breeding, retaining, and challenging individual contributors, and the perks are fantastic. Honestly, the exec team literally works for their customers and their employees 24/7. The transparency and vision delivered by Art Papas at townhalls is literally a breath of fresh air and his actions are always in the best interests of the aforementioned. HR is beyond approachable and always has an open door. People are smiling, and work is just fun.

Cons

With coming into the shining period of Bullhorn, it's time for refinement. The "overhead" like process, standardization of knowledge bases, and a real push for cross-team development will be what takes Bullhorn from a great company to unparalleled within the space. Take the great messaging at the c-level and continue it through directors and managers; the more everyone is singing the same song, the better.

Good, Can Improve

Pros

People, CEO (Art - cannot say enough about him) enthusiasm and commitment, exposure to tech industry, opportunity to give back through volunteering, cultural events - free lunch Wednesdays, first Thursday happy hours (out of the office)

Cons

Communication between departments, high turnover, always restructuring and reorganizing, path isn't always straight, inconsistencies between managers at different levels, favoritism that leads to promotions without experience, miscommunication around paths of moving up, not much diversity either especially in upper management

Thanks, for this feedback. Inter-department communication has been a big focus for us. We made some big gains last year in our employee survey data, but we'll never be done improving here. As for your other comments, if you're up for it, I'd love to hear more from you directly about some of what you saw and think we should be doing differently. Would you be open to sharing your thoughts with me? art at bullhorn dot com. Thanks
