Pros

compensation is adequate, lot of young passionate people, good work environment and culture

Cons

Management is not much experienced, project planning and project are very crude, ambiguous and stagnant. Very little changes of advancement. your work will demand a lot of time and patience which is not understood by management.

Pros

• I loved my team – my manager was very hands-off, and there was a lot of psychological safety within the team. • The health insurance was affordable. • Unlimited PTO (sort of – see Cons) • I met people whom I still talk to outside of work to this day.

Cons

• The obsession with the "path to a billion". Once that started, the culture that set Bullhorn apart slowly began to vanish. • The pay is low. I left for a position with a lower title and less responsibility, but the starting salary was 11.5% higher than my salary at BH. • I wound up on some list about taking "excessive" PTO. I was a 10/10 employee and got the highest marks for multiple years in a row. If my PTO was not negatively affecting my work quality and my team, then it shouldn't have been an issue. And if it bothers the company so much, then frontload a set amount of PTO. But that's not as appealing to prospects, and then they'd have to pay out unused time.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to leave a review of your time here. I'm happy to see that you met lifelong contacts/friends here, that you took advantage of our terrific benefit plans, and most important, that you had an environment that you could do your best work! I also appreciate your feedback on areas that didn't meet your expectations. I do want to comment on the PTO piece. Every year, mid way through the year, we run a report to check in on PTO with a number of lenses - who is tracking it or not, who hasn't taken very much at all, and who has some high amounts YTD. It's not just looking for abuse, but to flag issues (employees with personal issues we didn't know about that HR can better support), folks not taking enough time off, management not monitoring or tracking, etc. I'm not sure how this was worded back to you, but it sounds like the message got lost in translation. An employee who has taken an extreme amount of time off half way through the year, and who is still performing exceptionally in their job is not the issue - to me, that's a management issue - like does this person have the right goals? Are they in the wrong role? Could they be adding value in another role/promotion/etc? The intent is not punative, it's to be sure that our managers are managing their teams and their workloads appropriately - on both sides. It appears it came off otherwise to you. If you ever want to connect - you know where to find me. :) I wish you the best of success in your new role!! - Kelley Morse, CPO

Pros

Remote-First Environment Unlimited PTO Decent Healthcare Options 401k Options Collaborative Teams: Despite leadership challenges, many of the team members are supportive and collaborative, making day-to-day work enjoyable.

Cons

Bullhorn used to be a place where core values like collaboration, integrity, and employee support were at the forefront. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Leadership now openly dismisses feedback, with some leaders (COO & CPO) telling employees who express concerns that they can "find somewhere else to work." This approach creates a toxic environment where feedback is not welcomed, and employees feel unsupported. Leadership and HR are fully aware of these issues, yet they continue to justify them in their responses to negative Glassdoor reviews, which is disappointing. They promote an open-door policy and even include a Energy value stating they encourage to provide feedback. Unfortunately when you do so, you will be retaliated against and pushed out of the company, by no longer being added to projects with visibility, being ignored by leadership, or in some cases provided a surprising negative review after years of being a "Role-Model". Another major concern is the placement of leaders who lack the necessary knowledge and skillsets for their roles, but who have been promoted based on personal friendships rather than merit. This has resulted in ineffective decision-making and has further eroded trust within the organization. Employees with the potential to make impactful contributions are overlooked, while unqualified individuals are placed in key roles simply due to their connections. It is possible to reach the $1B goal while still maintaining a positive employee experience, but that requires leadership to genuinely care about their people and not just the bottom line. Customers have also started to notice the increasing turnover, and many are voicing concerns about no longer receiving the incredible customer experience that once set Bullhorn apart.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. I agree that it's possible to build and grow our company while maintaining our strong, positive employee experience. The leadership teams and I are personally committed to doing so. I also understand that you feel as though your experience here did not reflect that. Both these things can be true and I'm sorry that you left feeling like this. I welcome any employee to have a 1:1 conversation with me so that I can hear their concerns/feedback and show them that I care about their experience with real action. I have taken action many times if I find that an employee or leader here is not living our core values. We don't shy away from addressing things that can be improved. But the same expectation goes back to our employees. If you cannot live our core values, then we're going to have a tough conversation. We're all ears for constructive feedback. And rejecting feedback that is given in a toxic and unproductive manner certainly does not mean we are gaslighting our employees when they speak up. We ask for feedback twice per year through our formal surveys. We read, review and respond in great detail to these results because we care about the health of our culture. We also welcome informal conversations at any time to address things in real time. Unfortunately, I don’t recall having the opportunity to speak to you about your frustrations. Our belief is that employees should be fulfilled & excited in their roles, and when an employee isn't happy, doesn't like or agree with a change that is occurring, or finds the level of stress to be too much, that they should look for a new job. We do all we can to help solve challenges and don’t shy away from fixing things that are broken. But there are also times where it is perfectly okay to acknowledge that the fit between an employee and the company doesn't work anymore. I would much rather have that mature conversation, and help an employee transition than I would and try to jam a round peg into a square hole. That benefits no one. Life is much too short to wake up stressed every day and dreading work - there are plenty of great companies out there to work for. Ours is one of them. Maybe not for everyone, and maybe not forever. And that's okay. I hope your next role is a great one for you - should you ever want to talk to discuss your personal experience, you know where to find me! - Kelley Morse, CPO
