Blinded by $$$ to IPO, you're a sunk cost along the way

Pros

Great culture and mostly great people to work with. Are somewhat flexible with working from home.

Cons

Company is growing fast but doesn't seem able to support its growth. A lot of departments are understaffed while the company is focusing on making more $$$ in hopes of going public that they neglect roles that are not bringing in revenue. They take a reactive approach with customers and function like a start up rather than like the 500 employee company that they are. Executive Management is too involved directly with clients and bottom line decisions when they should be giving their employees more autonomy and authority to make these decisions. Annual reviews and career progressions are basically a joke here, standard raises are about 3% and promotions about 5%, bonuses average about 7-10%. In terms of job growth you'd have to leave the company if you're ambitious at all. Departments are not willing to develop and train current employees to grow within the company and take on new roles.

I'd advise to stay away. Very petty management team!

Pros

Very few! Looks great during the interview process. Once offer accepted, it's downhill

Cons

Management was very immature. Tons of turnover except a select few. My advice is to pass this company up.

We're sorry that your short amount of time here was not a good experience. Please know that you can always reach out to Human Resources, even after leaving, to discuss concerns and provide feedback. Our turnover as an organization is very low, so understanding the perspective you're coming from would be really helpful. Thank you!

Pros

work from home opportunity - industry leader for recruitment software

Cons

Vista is their equity firm and they run this saas model like an old school 80s sales model of door to door vacuum sales. They don't care about their employees and would rather pay less and turn and burn. And most importantly, they treat their customers like just a number. Unless a client is the biggest revenue producer, they care nothing about the clients that helped build their organization.

We're far from perfect and we're always open to constructive criticism, but this is an entirely unfair characterization. We are incredibly focused on customer and employee experience. Our customer satisfaction jumped up to 94% this year. Our NPS was up by leaps and bounds. Employee engagement is way up. Just look at the trends on this site. We just won Boston business journal's best places to work. And, on our most recent employee survey 94% of the 350 respondents said they would refer a friend to Bullhorn. All that said, we're really sorry you feel this way. That definitely bothers us. We'd love to talk about it and understand what happened to make you so frustrated.
