Pros

To say it simply, I love my job, the people I work with, and Bullhorn itself. The work itself is very fast-paced, which is great for someone who enjoys multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines and under pressure. Assisting coworkers is encouraged, which fosters a more positive, friendly environment that's helpful for working towards mutual goals. Also, again, the people are amazing, so it's legitimately wonderful to be able to problem-solve and work with them! The company has a lot of great benefits like awesome medical/dental insurance, impressive paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, free lunches on Wednesday and free breakfasts on Friday, the company takes us out to a local bar on the first Thursday of every month, and they host a free workout class twice a week at the office for anyone who wants to go now. Another great thing that's recently been implemented is our Fun Fridays--our most recent being Dog Day, which was a big hit with everyone! Then there was mini golf, weird/nasty soda and beer tasting, and Fancy Friday to name a few more. Dog Day obviously wins, but they have all been really cool ways to finish off the week.

Cons

Communication between departments isn't what it could be, but that's something management has identified and is actually working to improve currently. It's been a pain point, but I'm willing to bet that will be improving soon and I'm excited to see it!

Wow, this is an awesome review! Getting insight like yours on what's going well is so helpful in ensuring we continue it (i.e. Fun Fridays.) Thank you for recognizing our work to continuously improve interdepartmental communications, as well.

Pros

Just about everything about working at Bullhorn is pretty awesome. From the benefits to the learning and growth opportunities to culture and team members, everything is great. It is somewhere you can really grow and learn new things and implement change if you put the work in.

Cons

The only downside is they say there are a lot of promotions, and there are, but they are all entry level to mid-level, and mid-level to senior level. In some roles, once you hit senior level, there is not as much movement. Some development processes were a bit of a mess, but it has and is improving a lot.

Your "cons" explanation is very helpful, especially as we are building out career paths in our various departments. Some employees do not want to be people managers, but should still have places to grow from seniors.

Pros

The people really are great. I've enjoyed working with just about everyone at Bullhorn, both within and outside of my department. Everyone works hard and is invested in their jobs. I think this is the product of good hiring by HR and the overall social nature of the company (e.g. "First Thursday" where the company pays for drinks at a local bar once per month). The office is really cool, too.

Cons

There's an unspoken expectation that you will be available all the time, and chances are your boss and colleagues work late frequently. I'm constantly checking my phone for emails or IMs from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed. It also seems like it's getting more difficult to move within the company. People get "promoted" but these promotions seem to frequently be slight title changes for the sake of claiming promotion.

There's a ton of solid feedback in this review; thank you!! We all work very hard. However, it is not our expectation that you are required to be available at all times outside of work hours. I encourage you to talk with your manager about his/her expectations when you aren't working. Discuss your perception, establish work boundaries, and take advantage of our unlimited vacation policy for truly unplugged and recharging days. Promotions take many forms - getting a new title and compensation increase once you've achieved a level of success in your existing role, and/or taking a new role with a ton of new responsibility. If you feel you're being overlooked for either, please reach out to HR and let us know.
