Pros

Pay within industry standards Good health benefits Good mission

Cons

To this day, they are still lying to newly hired technicians. You are expected to travel 3 out of 4 weeks of the month. Depending where you live, it could be constantly away those 3 weeks. Don’t let them tell you otherwise. You also will be expected to travel on your weekend/days off. They overwork and drive their technicians into the ground. Often with unnecessary switching of shift times, high demand of output despite weather, call outs, etc. and unreasonable working environments constantly. Extreme heat in summers and cold NY winters are just a taste of what you can expect to be working in. Be prepared for last minute changes to where you work, putting excessive miles on your personal vehicle, and having your work critiqued by people who have nothing better to do than fail for simple things. If you do leave, they won’t pay out all earned PTO and final expenses that you occur on last weeks of work.

Thank you for your response, I am sorry to hear about your experience. I did check with HR on whether they had received any complaints about traveling more than the standard 2 weeks out 1 week local from anyone in the NY area, they have not received any complaints about this; also they have not received any complaints about being required to travel on the weekend or during your scheduled days off. I would encourage current employees to reach out to HR if this is occurring, so that they can take proper steps to address the situation. Just to clarify, techs can sign up to travel 3 out of every 4 weeks, however they need to sign up for this. Also, travel is typically scheduled on Monday for projects beginning on Tuesday, if this is a consistent issue the tech should notify HR for assistance. There are occasions where a plan may change due to weather or bus availability at the job site, items which are beyond our control, however we do try to minimize this as much as possible. If this is a consistent issue, I would encourage tech's to reach out to HR. Regarding payouts of PTO and final expenses, please reach out to HR on this. They can clarify PTO payout and can also ensure that you are paid out on your expenses. It is their process to require managers to approve expense pay outs before turning off an employee profile, so I am not sure how you would not receive a full payout.
