Pros

I have been here a long time and unless something changes, I am probably not going anywhere. I really enjoy what we do here, I like dealing with the variety of IT work and the opportunity to not only learn something new as well as have a say in how/what we do. Also the opportunity for our growth is really only limited by ourselves. This is kind of both a pro and a con, the salaries do start low but provided you stick around and prove your abilities they generally give great increases. Where we largely deal with county governments our business model is some what galvanized from the status of the economy. In other words even when the economy was slow we did not have to downsize. On a personal note, I have had some really hard times in my life and not only was BIS there for me, they went out of their way to support me. For that my family and I are deeply grateful.

Cons

There are stressful times, I am not going to lie, especially when trying to meet our customers deadlines. Like I mentioned in the Pros section, salaries do start low but they greatly improve over time.

Pros

RE: Bad Reviews. After reading all of the complaints about BIS's benefits and pay, I felt I should respond with a more honest and fair commentary on the situation. The BENEFITS: are excellent. When I received my benefits package. to be honest, was overwhelmed by all of the options and coverages offered. Health Insurance: BIS pays 80% for the employee. Employee end is either between $27 and $42 for individual. Of course its a lot more to add family members because BIS isn't paying employee's family's shares. Then there is Dental, Vision, Retirement, Idemnity, Short and Long term disability, and life insurance as options. (All at very reasonable rates and good coverages) PAY (Pro): Raises are pretty regular for employees that perform well. Recent college grads looking for entry level work in the Computer Science / IT / Programming have a hard time finding jobs locally. (from personal exp.) Many of the jobs can be performed are skilled-entry level positions so the pay is based accordingly. CO-EMPLOYEES: Everyone I work with is great. Most of us share similar interests and all are easy going, helpful, cooperative. OVERALL: As someone that had been looking for a job in the field and fresh from college, this is by far the best company I've ever worked for as far as the pay, the atmosphere, co-workers, team leaders, the job itself, and upper management.

Cons

PAY (Con): Its a little low for the computer science field but to be real honest, that is the case with most companies in this area at least for basically skilled-entry level jobs. SEE PAY(Pro)
