The best part of this job was when we were told to work from our homes due to COVID-19. The work itself wasn’t bad at all. What made this job a poor experience was the toxic work environment. Several coworkers and I were constantly on pins and needles, never knowing when certain volcanoes would erupt. The first time I heard yelling and swearing in the hallway for every nearby department to hear, I looked around to see if anyone else was alarmed. I quickly realized over time that this was the norm. No one could say anything, of course, because those involved in the aggressive behavior made the rules. I wish I had known before working at BIS that I would be walking on egg shells every day. There is extreme favoritism at BIS, and I soon learned that working there is like playing a game, hoping you weren’t the next target.
